May be performed for droopy eyelids. This procedure can be performed for both cosmetic and functional indications. When the skin becomes so stretched out, the droopy eyelid can block the pupillary aperture and can actually impair your vision. If this is the case, people often compensate by using their forehead muscles to help elevate their eyelids, which will contribute to excessive fatigue and forehead wrinkles.
Even some cosmetic situations may have functional component of visual loss. Additional in-office testing may determine if there is a functional component to the upper eyelid partially blocking your vision. If so, we may apply to your insurance company for partial coverage for this procedure. Blepharoplasty (eye lid tuck) may be performed on the upper or lower eyelids.
Dr. Yashar also removes skin tags and cancers around the eyes.
If you are interested in finding out if you are a candidate for this procedure, please schedule an appointment in our office with Dr. Alyson Yashar.
